Product Review

Quite pleased with replacing old 40 gal. 2 element water heater with the Eemax SP55 Tankless Water Heater. Was able to use existing breaker and 220 wiring. Old water heater was half full of lime/sediment and took up too much room & electicity in garage just for occasional hand washing. SP55 does not accumulate such sediments or waste elect. Like it so significantly I ordered another model from Eemax. Almost enough volumn to take a shower with perhaps on city water but my well water is too cold for that. Check requirements for other models, some require bigger wire and breakers than tank type water heaters. (More...)

Product Review

We purchased this water heater about 3 years ago. It worked fine for the very first six months then suddenly wouldn't stay lit. Because then he have had the plumber out to repair it no less than 12 separate times (no exageration). The water heater is nonetheless under warranty so the business has usually been willing to replace and ship new parts when essential, but they don't pay for labor. Therefore at this point we have spent over $500 dollars in labor and have replaced each component on the water heater no less than when (except for the tank itself). Some parts have been replaced three times. Essentially the water heater stays lit for a while (3-9 months) and then will not stay lit at all. Each time we call a plumber to come out (or call the business) the first factor they desire to know is has the water heater been kept clean. To which the plumber constantly dicovers that the water heater is really clean. (Review More...)

Product Review

In September of 2010 I bought an Ecosmart tankless waterheater, since a salesperson at a hardware store where I often shopped recomended it. I origynally went to buy the Titan brand that I already owned at one more property and was really content with. After installing the Ecosmart unit I noticed changes in water temperature (got super hot after which cold). In the finish of January 2011 I had a terrible experience, the unit had overheated the CPVC line and blown it like a baloon and melted and water was everywhere. Luckly it occurred early morning just before going to function. The genuine dilemma was when I took the unit back for testing at Ecosmart headquarters in Miami. They blamed it on a power surge, or bad CVPC product from China, or hard water in my region. They claimed the unit was good. Unhappy about this I went to the shop where I created the buy. Ecosmart had referred to as the store and told them not to return money or exchange. Soon after I raised hell, I was given another unit. This unit right after being installed, woul heat the water and then the water will get cold for about a minute. This time I got my money back from the hardware shop and got the Titan..Happy ENDING!!!!!!! (Read More...)

Not certain how one reviews a hot water heater apart from it supposed to heat water and this 1 does fine. We replaced an old electric HW heater with gas just last week. Until we get a couple of utility bills I won't know if this can be an economical swap or not. Our gas company ( who also offers our electricity ) has a rebate program for conversion to gas, so there was several dollars off. This can be my 1st gas HW heater, and my initial observations are that it is noisey, or at the least I never heard the prior electric unit when it was operating and with gas you clearly have a combustion burner running at times. I'm told nonetheless that gas offers really quick recovery and that it must minimize my energy bill overall. Fit and finish of this model looks excellent. This unit is about 1 foot taller than its electric predecessor, and our pet cat no longer finds the best of this HW heater accomodating for sleeping, with its' somewhat decreased diameter and a chimney smack dab within the middle of her favorite spot. She's not happy, but so far we're. (More...)

Eccotemp 40H-NG Outdoor Gas Tankless Water Heater, 135,000 British Thermal Unit

Sunday, October 9, 2011

Product Review

I bought it and installed it. If you set the temperature above 120F, it produces yellow water at the commence (!) [I feel that is simply because in the event you set it to 130F, it spikes to 140+ initially]. Known as eccotemp and emailed them; they stated that 120F was the maximum temperature for this unit (regardless of the manual saying 140F) and any more would cause burns. True, but: 1. I know the way to use the cold water to mix it towards the temperature I want (it's named tempering!). 2. This can be a "whole house" unit -- I prefer to sterilize my dishes and laundry. 120F doesn't do that (heck, 120F barely kills fleas!) Keeping it in spite of the yellow water... I suppose that means it'll wear out faster than typical and I get to uncover out what how the warranty works. Apart from the low temp, it works, and I've seen a reduction on my gas bill *despite* me filling my hot tub together with the water (Yay! I got to enjoy the hot tub without having waiting for per day for it to heat up on it's own following getting to drain it). (More Detail...)

Eccotemp L5 Portable Tankless Water Heater and Outdoor Shower

Product Review

I received my tankless water heater this morning. It was well-packed and also the directions are pretty great. I appreciated the "extras" which are usually "optional at extra expense," like the shower head, mounting hardware, and propane tank hookup. But (there's constantly a "but!"), unless you've plumbing fittings handy, plan on a trip to the hardware store. The threads you have to connect to are rough and not cut specially properly, one thing that seems widespread on items from China, so you certainly have to have teflon tape or plumber's putty handy. On my unit, the hose connections towards the shower head leak badly at both ends. Not that big a deal because it's intended as a shower, just an annoyance. And, the shower head male threads are a bit brief, so 1 end of the hose would screw on far sufficient to not leak too badly, but the other finish would spray water all over the place until I reversed the hose. Then it just leaked at the water output of the heater. The hose connection (one more good included item) did not have a rubber gasket. (Review More...)

Bosch GL6 Ariston 6-Gallon Point-of-Use Indoor Electric Mini-Tank Water Heater

Product Review

This can be our 2nd Ariston heater - the very first can be a four gallon below the kitchen sink. We got this one to sit in our basement bathroom and feed it, the main floor bathroom sink and a future 1/2 bath on the 2nd floor. It just makes so a lot sense to keep a small quantity of hot water ready to make use of proper near the fixture. That way you do not have to waste a bunch of water in the event you need hot water. These seem quite properly insulated, so I believe that the standby losses are negligible. Our main heater is actually a gas tankless, and these truly support enhance the performance for intermittent utilizes including washing hands or dishes. I just put this inline with the tankless, so that it can "smooth" out our hot water. The tankless works greatest for steady utilizes, for example showers and filling a dishwasher. Adding 1 of these Aristons gives you the most effective of all worlds. (Read More...)

Product Review

I've a residence that has three apartments. When I purchased the residence it had a 40 gallon hot water heater that was normally running out of hot water. I had a Rinnai commercial indoor natural gas tankless water heater installed 4 years ago. You will discover 3 baths/showers, two dishwashers, and 1 washing machine in the residence that run consequtively or alternately and there has in no way been 1 time because the Rinnai's been installed that somebody went to take a shower or bath or wash dishes or clothes that there wasn't hot water. The installer that Rinnai suggested was top notch. The price of this heater wasn't considerably a lot more then the high efficiency 60 gallon hot water heater our gas and electric firm was pushing me to get. Due to the fact my laundry room exactly where the heater is situated is modest I was able to recoupe floor space and install a laundry cart for my detergents and cleaning items. I also found that my gas bill went from $50 to $60 per month to $23 to $28 per month. I like the truth that I have as considerably hot water as I want, whenever I want it. Rheem 22V50F1 Natural Gas Water Heater, 50 Gallon

Product Review

Wonderful low cost, delivered. Installation easy. Started appropriate up. Heats water. All great. I am especially impressed that it really is insulated so nicely that the only parts that even get warm towards the touch are the actual water fittings and the exhaust hood. The top surface with the unit doesn't get warm at all, impressive. The only negative is that simply because it only generates 38k BTUs it can't very do it in January/February when the incoming water is about 40 F. It nonetheless makes hot water, it just can't maintain it as lengthy. For the duration of those months it has pretty much specifically exactly the same efficiency my old 40 gal/42k BTU unit had. Eccotemp 40HI-NG Indoor Gas Tankless Water Heater, 135,000 British Thermal Unit

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

The Eccotemp 40HI-NG Indoor Gas Tankless Water Heater, is a good tankless water heater. However, if you are looking to save water, tankless is probably not the way to go. You have to have the hot water tap going full throttle at all times in order for the heating mechanism (a spin wheel of sorts) to trip on and start heating the water. You have to run the water for about 30-60 seconds before you will get hot water, too. I live in an old, old house and there is a certain order I have to turn on the various faucetts in the bathroom in order for me to have hot water for the entirety of my shower. (I'm guessing this is a water pressure thing having to do with antiquidated or poorly installed plumbing.) Also, since it has an electronic display, you will need a batter backup in order to have hot water when the electricity goes out (which happens all too regularly where I live). I feel like the energy savings are negligible because of the hoops I have to jump through in order to keep hot water constant. (Review More...)

Picking a Gas Water Heater

Monday, August 15, 2011

Picking a gas water heater is maybe the wisest option when installing or replacing a hot water heater in your household due to the fact they are a lot additional economical than their electric counterparts. In truth, most gas water heaters operate on much less than half of the expense associated with conventional electric water heaters. Thinking about that hot water heaters are the second largest user of power in the property, locating a additional economical solution is very wise indeed.

Natural gas hot water heaters are also extremely favorite amongst homeowners simply because they reach their set temperature additional than twice as quickly as an electric water heater does. That means that you simply could almost certainly run the dishwasher after your morning shower and nonetheless have hot water, not lukewarm water. And are you generally the 1 having to wait about for much more hot water after a shower hog has carelessly employed it all for himself? A gas water heater may well not make him extra considerate, however it would cut your wait time in half.

While gas water heaters faster and cheaper than electric heaters, is still very important to purchase the right size tank for your household needs. A gas water heater that is too small may still leave the shower with warm water.

Most homes require a 40 gallon gas hot water heater. This heater will take care of a house with 3-4 medium-sized occupants, two bathrooms and a washing machine. Of course, if you live alone and have only one bathroom, you can get by with a smaller water heater. On the other hand, you may need a larger heater if there are multiple family members, especially adolescents, at home and a dishwasher or hot tubs.

Even once you've figured out which gas water heater may be the perfect size for your property, you may would like to acquire a size bigger for some reasons. Most of these factors will center on your family's lifestyle. For example: Should you have a household member who's notorious for taking lengthy, extremely hot showers, or in case you have to run the dishwasher, washing machine and take a shower in the same time and within the couple of hours which you get to invest at dwelling, you may wish to obtain a larger gas water heater than is suggested for your loved ones size.

No matter what size gas water heater you opt for, you could rest assured which you are heating water for a fraction of the expense related with electric heaters. Now that's intelligent.
